Obama discussed his Muslim upbringing in Jakarta: see it HERE:

On March 6, 2007, Nicholas D. Kristof at the New York Times wrote an article about Barack Obama's upbringing, "Obama: Man of the World," where Obama discussed his Muslim upbringing in Jakarta:

"I was a little Jakarta street kid," he said in a wide-ranging interview in his office (excerpts are on my blog, www.nytimes.com/ontheground). He once got in trouble for making faces during Koran study classes in his elementary school, but a president is less likely to stereotype Muslims as fanatics -- and more likely to be aware of their nationalism -- if he once studied the Koran with them.

Mr. Obama recalled the opening lines of the Arabic call to prayer, reciting them with a first-rate accent. In a remark that seemed delightfully uncalculated (it'll give Alabama voters heart attacks), Mr. Obama described the call to prayer as "one of the prettiest sounds on Earth at sunset."

Moreover, Mr. Obama's own grandfather in Kenya was a Muslim. Mr. Obama never met his grandfather and says he isn't sure if his grandfather's two wives were simultaneous or consecutive, or even if he was Sunni or Shiite.
The article was published on March 6, 2007, but as John Galt reported, it's now missing.
It was removed from the NY Times website.

It's interesting then that it's still posted on the Obama website:

You'd think they'd be more coordinated with their defensive tactics.

UPDATE: It looks like the NY Times link is working again.

Why are they saying that people from Alabama would have heartattacks? Is this some sort of racist or anti-Muslim jab at people from the South.

The fact is that all Americans should be questioning a canidate that claims to once have had very little teaching in the Muslim ways but almost 30 something years later can still belt out the prayer to Allah.

Too many issues come up with Obama, he doesn't tell the whole truth about anything. And what he does tell about himself is well-crafted as in a way if you question it - the questioning can be viewed as racist or a personal attack.

Obama is weak and seems to be on every side of any issue, he can't form an opinion for himself and I don't think he's really that informed with the world around him. Obama seems to live in a bubble where he thinks that whatever he does is acceptable to everyone.

oh ya, I've also noticed how Obama hasn't mentioned 'Global Warming' at all, it's climate change if he mentions it at all.

Christopher, you just have to laugh at Obama sometimes. You're right, he does live in a bubble. A bubble surrounded by a bunch of far left nutters out of ChiTown. They all come out of Marxist backgrounds, far left stuff.

He's one of the most arrogant men I've seen in politics. Thats a high plateau. He's an empty suit, do nuthin hack, full of failures from Chitown, with corrupt criminals, failed million dollar boondoggles, corrupt friends as Domestic Terrorist Bombers and extreme activist, Communist, former PLO members, his Church of vile hatred supporting Hamas Terrorist and also Nation of Islam.

It is no accident he still recites the Muslim call to Prayer eloquently in Arabic. Frankly I don't care if he can. But he always turns around and labels others as racist.

He thinks it benefits him with Muslims using it to his advantage. It makes him "appear more worldly" as he says. He loves that Muslims love his name.

OK, Barack Hussein Obama, then go with the flow. If you want to impress Germans and Muslims around the world, good for you. Get a position in the United Nations. You'll do quite well in such a corrupt place.

But this is America. We were attacked 9/11 by the very same crazed lunatics that love you today. Tyrants, terrorist and extremist from Hamas to Iranian Mullahs all love you.

We have the right to ask, Why? Why Obama? Do they like you?

And Fear John McCain?

Oh OT: another Scrubbed scene:

Matthews and Olberman Far Left Kooks lose their Election Anchor Seats! Replaced!

LOL... what a bunch of crazed lunatics. Finally, someone at NBC, probably Brokaw had a spine.

NBC = Nutjob Broadcast Crankers.

I'm sure the false messiah told them to expect attacks such as these among the heathen. To bad they haven't healed anyone. Guess they haven't been baptized in the holy spirit yet.

Peoples Cube is a riot! The graphic of the two boobs under Obama is as BG said once, "hilariously profound."

I just "love" how the screenshot shows the following passage: "His experience as an antipoverty organizer" What the heck is that anyway? A commie Blockwart? (Blockwart was a low-level civilian rank of the NSDAP in Nazi Germany, the Blockwart's job was to make sure that the house he was responsible for was flying flags, stuff like that; a Mini Hitler with no power at all, the one thing he could do was rat you out to the GESTAPO). Antipoverty organizer. This proves that Obama is a commie and an enemy of the free market. The only things that can fight poverty are:
1) the free market
2) the will to achieve something

But why try to achieve something when the state gives you money anyway?

And Nicholas D. Kristof needs to do a little studying himself. "Studying" the koran in a koran school doesn't equal to "understanding" it. Koran schools brainwash children into believing the racist crap from the islamofascists.
"Mr. Obama described the call to prayer as "one of the prettiest sounds on Earth at sunset."" Oh yes, really? How would Bambi like to live in an islamist country? Ok Mrs Obama, no more driving licence for you, take your university degree and burn it. Should I see you on the streets without a veil, I'll beat you. And I think your kids will soon be the right age for being married to a 50 year old guy. That's the "pretty" things of islam.

Obama... go and live in Iran. And stay there!

Which of the candidates supports Muslim theocratic ideas?

1) While mayor of Wasilla, Alaska, Palin inquired of the local librarian how to go about banning books that some of her constituents thought contained inappropriate language. She tried to fire the librarian for defying her. Book banning is common to fundamentalisms around the world, and the mind-set Palin displayed did not differ from that of the Hamas minister of education in the Palestinian government who banned a book of Palestinian folk tales for its sexually explicit language.

2)Palin argued when running for governor that creationism should be taught in public schools, at taxpayers' expense, alongside real science. Antipathy to Darwin for providing an alternative to the creation stories of the Bible and the Quran has also become a feature of Muslim fundamentalism. Saudi Arabia prohibits the study, even in universities, of evolution, Freud and Marx. Malaysia has banned a translation of "The Origin of the Species."

3)She calls abortion an "atrocity" and pledges to reshape the judiciary to fight it. Ironically, Palin's views on the matter are to the right of those in the Muslim country of Tunisia, which allows abortion in the first trimester for a wide range of reasons. Classical Muslim jurisprudents differed among one another on the issue of abortion, but many permitted it before the "quickening" of the fetus, i.e. until the end of the fourth month. Contemporary Muslim fundamentalists, however, generally oppose abortion.

Sarah supports the ideology of Muslims. Just look at her record.

We've now had a week of blaring headlines and one-liners about Sarah Palin as the mavericky, pork-busting reformer from Alaska. But we seem to be witnessing the first stirrings of a backlash and a dawning realization that the 'Sarah Palin' we've heard so much about over the last few days is a fraud of truly comical dimensions.

The McCain camp has made her signature issue shutting down the Bridge to Nowhere. But as The New Republic put it today that's just "a naked lie." And pretty much the same thing has been written today in Newsweek, the Washington Post, the AP, the Wall Street Journal. Yesterday even Fox's Chris Wallace called out Rick Davis on it.

On earmarks she's an even bigger crock. On the trail with McCain they're telling everyone that she's some kind of earmark slayer when actually, when she was mayor and governor, in both offices, she requested and got more earmarks than virtually any city or state in the country.

Think about that. On the stump, not a single word that comes out of her mouth -- or not a single word that the McCain folks put in her mouth -- is anything but a lie.

Heh. Sarah BarraLIAR!

Dave in NYC,

Your so above us all. Please do tell us why NYT scrubbed the site.

The story has been up for some time now. So why take it down?

Why should we trust the NYT in what they tell us anymore? They hired a liar, making up stories.

They run negative front page hit stories daily against anyone leaning right of Barbara Streisand.

They refused to run McCain's response to Obama with double-standards.

Or the time when they sold an Ad to Soros puppets to call General Petraeus - "Betray Us!" And later we found out they gave a steep discount that was not allowed for political hitjobs. Sure, do tell us Dave in NYC.

The Sulzberger owned media are far left pro Obama fanatics and have been for a long time. Their biased reporting is one reason they're losing market share.

But please do enlighten us.

And as I've stated above and in response to you, provide the link for finally responding to me after weeks of asking you, why Obama's terrorist ties, supporters, etc., are not important to you in this election.

Can't wait to see it.

NYT ran a front page hit story on rumors stating Governor Palin was a member of AIP. Not true.

They finally corrected it 3 days later in Corrections.

But this is the typical hitjob pieces that NYT runs with all the time. Constantly making mistakes and hitting Conservatives, Republicans or mocking Christians routinely as below them.

Palin hit job corrected finally

Scrubbin info like Obama's is not surprising. Attacking Governor Palin's record and overlooking the weak non-record of OBama is not surprising either. This is part of the larger pattern of NYT for a long time now in liberalism run amok at the Sulzberger papers.

Exactly. Doesn't make a lot of sense, does it? Especially since it's still up on Obama's website and a million other places on the internet (and the quote can be found in several other pieces on the NYT website).

That's why you should ask them rather than make baseless accusations.

And as I've stated above and in response to you, provide the link for finally responding to me after weeks of asking you, why Obama's terrorist ties, supporters, etc., are not important to you in this election.

Oh, that question I answered months ago (I don't really concern myself with who supports a candidate, especially when they are not Americans. I care about what the candidate supports). I was referring to your question about whether Israel should give more land back to the Arabs. I answered that one in the thread about Palin having a mini-Israeli flag in her office. You can Google it if you want, I don't have time right now.

Except for the ones that they are scrubbing from their website and archive because they might prove embarrassing to the Obamamessiah.

Always remember that the Democrats and liberals read Orwell's "1984" not as a warning but as an instruction manual.

To throw rocks and hide you hands is for example, like stating you allow or promote things being that benefit your behalf, but deny having anything to do with it. For example, Democrats going after Sarah Palin stating her 17 year old daughter give birth to her down syndome baby, but Obama coming out and stating that opponents children are off limits. Do we really believe Obama has no hand in the matter? And does Obama believe McCain has no hand in the matter? I've always found that people who lie and steal believe everyone else does it too.

So Gov Palin does or believes in all the things that Muslims fundamentalists are doing and believing? I guess that means that there is not much real difference between her, Obama, and the Obamaniacs. Some of them may thus desert the Messiah and vote for her because of her gender in order to avoid being called sexist. Smart move by McCain.

I also have trouble remembering which party and which side of the political spectrum it was that rounded up people of Japanese descent and put them in concentration camps, while taking control of major industries, censoring media, executing spies after non-public trials, bombing cities to rubble killing millions of innocents in the process, and invading several countries that had nothing to do with any attack on the US. Seems this same party and wing of the political spectrum were behind endless interventions in the Caribbean Basin, Asia, and the Balkans, too, against countries that never directly threatened the US. I think they did these things to win wars. Wish I could remember.

Dave in NYC,

Thanks for showing you're full of it. You never answered my questions. You know I asked you more than that. You blew it off, just like you did again today.

I asked you WHY so many terrorist, tyrants and radicals support OBama. You are avoiding answering the question because you know how damaging it is to him as a legitimate leader of our nation.

You routinely sit here in judgement of Jim more than you do of Obama's lies, mistakes and gaffes. You are a hypocrite.

You try to discredit Jim, while looking away from Obama's huge mistakes, actual lies, his abuse of peoples truth, and so many gaffes as to wipe out any sense of integrity in the media today.

You attack a blogger for a mistake here or there, but as I brought up the NYT's cannot be trusted due to their own bias and flagrant mistakes you ignore them.

They have done much worse than any mistake Jim as a single blogger may have done. They have a billion dollar operation with researchers, staff, investigators, reporters, editors trained to catch mistakes, yet you give them a pass. They ran false accusations and rumors against Palin. Yet that is no big deal to you. Just like it is no big deal that Obama made the sick and twisted associations he did thru his career.

The fact that you blow these off, makes you nothing more than a blind attack dog here. Your refusal to acknowledge Obama's dangerous friendships, bad judgement and long time associations with people that Hate America is now staring you in the face and you blow it off as unimportant.

NYT, All the news that is fit to Smear normal Americans.

Yet, you pretend to be Mr. Dogood here? And contantly try to discredit Jim? You're a fake and a troll.

All the while as a hypocrite you look the other way when blatant smears are run by NYT. Blatant political hitjobs are run against a General during war at illegal prices for an Ad.

That does not phase you in the least. This is why you have no credibility. None, Zero.

Let me give you; the "enlighted" attack dog here a clue. This is a Conservative Blog. One person. It is not the NYT. Unlike NYT, Jim does not claim to be impartial. As you can easily see he is Pro Israel.

But I seriously doubt you are.

As everyone sees now on this blog after all these months. You let terrorist, tyrants and radicals associated with Obama remain as meaningless to you.

Yet you'll strain at quote marks?

What a pathetic troll. Your attacks here are absolutely meaningless if you refuse to address the huge log in your eye and the massive amount of mistakes, gaffes and lies from your candidate.

It is your Bias on display.

Essentially you are a biased hypocrite due to your alliegence to Obama. You put blinders on at your failed attempts here to discredit Jim.

NYT is as Biased as you are in looking away from the radicals, tyrants and terrorist supporting Obama and his reaching out to them.

Finally, you do not answer why Obama himself associated with radicals. You do not answer why he associates with Domestic Terrorist Bombers William Ayers, Bernadine Dohrn, Saul Alinsky, or his background with Frank Davis. You refuse to look seriously at Obama's 22 years of attendence at a false church of racism, hatred and anti-semitism with Jeremiah Wright, his Nation of Islam contact with famous radical and anti-semite Farrakhan, or his criminal contacts with Tony Rezko.

It is alarming that you dismiss these relationships with anti-semites, Wright, Farrakhan, and the support of Hamas, the PLO supporter. All people that he, that Obama sought out and willingly made deep bonds with over time to win elections and move up in power.

Dave in NYC,

Thanks for being exposed as a hypocritical mole, that squeezes at gnats on a blog, while ignoring the truth of your own candidate and the bias of huge billion dollar operations under the control of Sulzbergers.

You have no more credibility.

The man himself has sought out these anti-semite relationships. He is on record as telling radicals Islamics that he will stand up for them, but he has to be careful.

And you... you're now nothing but a pathetic, biased hypocrite.

The muezzin's call to prayer, the adhan, includes the attestation that Mohammed is the prophet.
It's somewhat like reciting the Apostle's Creed for Christians, but even more powerful in the minds of Muslims.
For Muslims, to recite this phrase is necessary and sufficient to become a Muslim.
It might be very awkward for some Muslims to find that Obama has recited this; and that might be a somewhat legitimate reason for the NYT to remove the link.
Is that why I think they removed it? Nah. Particularly if they put it back as a result of conservative pundits talking about it.

4:09 PM
Dave in NYC said...
I asked you WHY so many terrorist, tyrants and radicals support OBama.

And I told you right off the bat that I don't know or care. I have addressed this before, you just haven't paid attention. First of all, I have seen little evidence that "many terrorist (sic.)" support Obama.

Furthermore, I have read repeatedly on this site about how terrorists and Muslims are skilled in the art of deception. Since they would know their public support of Obama hurts him, isn't it possible that they actually support McCain and are only pretending to support Obama?

In addition, terrorism is a method, not a cause. The fact that a terrorist may share some of the same goals as me does not make those goals evil, nor does it mean that I support their methods (I don't).

You do not answer why he associates with Domestic Terrorist Bombers William Ayers, Bernadine Dohrn, Saul Alinsky, or his background with Frank Davis.

Obama is not the one who made Ayers a professor or put him in charge of school reform in Chicago. While I would prefer that Obama not have associated with him, he did so in an effort to improve Chicago's schools.

Frank Davis was a friend of Obama's grandfather, and I believe Obama last saw him in high school. What about that requires explanation?

You refuse to look seriously at Obama's 22 years of attendence at a false church of racism, hatred and anti-semitism with Jeremiah Wright, his Nation of Islam contact with famous radical and anti-semite Farrakhan, or his criminal contacts with Tony Rezko.

I did look at it seriously, and I am confident Obama does not share all of Wright's views. Nor do I think that Wright's views have all been accurately portrayed here or in the MSM. More importantly, I think that the Republicans associate with plenty of clerics just as vile as Wright, except those guys actually have an influence on policy (unlike Wright).

You try to discredit Jim, while looking away from Obama's huge mistakes, actual lies, his abuse of peoples truth, and so many gaffes as to wipe out any sense of integrity in the media today.

I point out Jim's mistakes and lies because I know Jim actually reads his comments section and he has an opportunity to correct them. Even if he doesn't, at least my correction will be there for others who might otherwise believe his falsehoods. I make similar posts on liberal blogs when I see similar mistakes or lies. Yes, I could add my voice to the chorus of people on the Internet who criticize every gaffe or falsehood or piece of political pandering that comes out of Obama's or McCain's mouth, but what would I be adding there?

Let me give you; the "enlighted" attack dog here a clue. This is a Conservative Blog. One person. It is not the NYT. Unlike NYT, Jim does not claim to be impartial....

...All the while as a hypocrite you look the other way when blatant smears are run by NYT.

I do not give the NYT a free pass, and I wish they did a better job. But that does not give Jim an excuse to publish his own mistakes. If he is going to claim to hold the "MSM" to a high standard, he has an obligation to deliver that same standard. I do not care whether Jim is partial or impartial, but I care when he makes things up or lies. I know Jim is only one man, but if he doesn't have the resources to do simple research or get things right, then he shouldn't be blogging on that subject
