Have you heard about this young boy, 15 years old, who will be tried as an adult?

What he was planning was horribly wrong, but
TRIED AS AN ADULT?!
Are you KIDDING me?!?!

The child is FIFTEEN years old. JUST turned 15. He is nowhere NEAR an adult, and for that matter nowhere near even able to fully comprehend all of the implications of the choices he is making, he STILL childish--- and foolishness is bound up in the heart of a child, we know that from the Bible.

If then God says that foolishness is bound up in his heart, and in addition to that the study of Psychology says that children this age(and until age 17) have not fully developed abstract thought, then how in Heaven's name can prosecutors be comfortable-LEGALLY and morally- to even *suggest* trying a 15 year old boy as an ADULT?

I am heated over this case, not doused by the fact that prosecutors are *spinning their tires* convicting Caycee Anthony-even though they have AMPLE proof that she was planning a Murder- and yet they are SO quick to try this boy as an adult when they have the same amount of evidence for him as for Caylee, and he is 15 whereas Caylee is 24!!!

This poor, poor baby.

Don't even get me started on the other side of the coin:

What do you, personally, really think that you *could* be capable of yourself , if YOU were tormented day in and day out at school-publicly-- and amongst your peers--- at least 5 days a week----- by bullies who made it their life's goal to torment you and humiliate you regularily until you 'broke'?

Well, he BROKE.

And the parent sof the bullies as well as the bullies themselves should be UP FOR TRIAL TOO.
IMHO.

This is THE major reason for why bullying has gotten as big a problem as it has, as out of control as it has in the U.S.,

BECAUSE PUBLIC SCHOOL PRINCIPALS, PUBLIC SCHOOL TEACHERS and PARENTS DO NOT TAKE BULLYING SRIOUS ENOUGH..... !....

I mean, my God- I have been the student seeing it go down and nothing done about it, I have been the Teacher and had my hands tied by a Principal who says 'we can't do anything about it, it's the parent's responsibility to discipline the kids' and I have seen and had to address the Parents who 90 % of the time either have their heads up thier @asses
and want to live in denial that little Johnny/Janie is an Angel, or are just as big of a bullies themselves and try to bully ME as the teacher or Parent.

I plan on writing 2 letters this morning.

One to my Congressman and one to the Chief of Police at the station in Posststown, PA.

A letter containing study after study that shows this 15 year old boy NOT cognitively competant enough to be charged as an adult, never mind to be fully prosecuted for his attempted crimes- he needs counseling NOT Juvie,

and a letter to my Congrassman outlining why and how Bullying has become such a problem and what WE need to do about it to STOP the insanity, NOW.

These prosecutors are SO lucky I put of pursuing the bar in order to raise my special-needs child full-time because if I HAD gotten my Family Law liscence I would be coming after these prosecutors, FREE of charge, on behalf of young Richard Yanis and his parents. I hope to God somebody else does!

If your reading this post and you ARE a lawyer, please come after these prosectors like a pitbull in a dress! God knows that I sure as heck would if I could!!!

Pottstown, Pa. -- A Pottstown, Pa., teen has been charged in a Columbine-like plot at a high school outside Philadelphia.

Montgomery County District Attorney Risa Ferman and Pottstown Borough Police Chief Mark Flanders are charging the 15-year-old boy with attempted murder.

The teen will be charged as an adult. Fox 29 is withholding his name until he is formally charged as an adult.

Pottstown Borough Police began their investigation after a reported theft of firearms from the defendant's father. The defendant's father told police that he was missing three handguns from a secured gun locker located in the basement of his residence.

Also he reported ammunition missing from within the gun locker.

Pottstown Police learned from another juvenile they interviewed that he received a bag from the teen, and was asked to "hold onto it."

The suspect allegedly told his friend he was going to "shoot students in the school and then himself."

The juvenile also showed police the location of the guns in the Manatawny Creek in River Front Park in Pottstown Borough.

The dive team then recovered the handguns and 248 rounds of .22 caliber ammunition from Manatawny Creek.

Police examined the handguns and determined that they were the same handguns reported stolen by the defendant's father.

The defendant later admitted to police that he removed the guns from his home and that he gave the guns to a friend, who was supposed to "hold" the guns for him.

The suspect said he was planning to have his friend take the guns to the Pottstown High School where he would retrieve the guns and implement his plan of a school shooting.

The teen also allegedly told police that he was going to go into the school shooting, shoot everyone he did not like, and then himself.

His plan was to have the guns loaded and have the additional ammunition inside his backpack. On the day of the planned shooting, he was going to tell his friends to go home from school.

This is what happens when a child is forced to resolve matters of this kind. Everyone who failed to protect HIM should be on trail as well!

I agree, Gkitty. The world shakes their head and say"thank God he's going to jail, what a danger to society" I say, what a danger those bullying kids were to society, but I'll bet not a darn thing will be done about their atrocious behavior. What a wold we live in.

I have to disagree with you on this one. The bullying is absolutely wrong & this kid should have been protected, but he's old enough to know right from wrong. IMHO, fifteen is no longer a child. He knew what he was planning - premeditated murder.

You mean we can't be clones, Trix??? Darn!!! LOL Eye-wink
I hear ya- he should have known it was wrong to do(and I am sure he did) but at 15 you ARE still a child(any Psychologist or Child Development Specialist will attest) and he was unable to FULLY comprehend the consequences and implications of such a plot for revenge....

I DO think that the child should be committed into a mental health facility and closely monitored, there are obviously issues he needs to work through mentally- and he is in NO way safe for society at this point,at all....
