Yes, what the research in Food & Medicine say's is really true--
Eating breakfast does seem to make a huge difference in the success, or failure, of our
weight-loss efforts.

I don't think there's anything magic in the breakfast, whether you eat it or drink it.
I think the benefit is that, if you do a small, reasonable breakfast then you won'r
be as likely to hit up Starbucks (or, if your more like me, Wawa) for a super-creamy,
sugar- loaded Caffine Bomb and/or hit up the snack machine at work before Lunch.
I was advised (by my Family Dr.) to 'Drink My Breakfast' since I assured him that I
would never eat it, as I do not ever eat before 1pm unless I have not slept all night.
I just do not get hungry in the morning. I will wat something small when I feel my
blood sugar waning, in other words, when I start to feel sick because I haven't
eaten all morning (light headed and a bit naseus, need to lay down, if really bad I
would see Haley's Comets.) I agreed to drink an Ensure every weekday morning-
at his reccomendation- and see if it helped. It did.

It helped me stop drinking 6 cups of coffee every morning between 6 and 10 a.m.-
drinking it replaced 3 coffee's for me, so I went down to 6-which was less acid in my
stomach and led to less anxiety over one particularily drama-creating lady at work (go figure,)
and I also stopped hitting up the snack machine on my 19:30/11a.m. break --because sipping down
that large cup o' Ensure and Ice (don't even try to drink that stuff warm, gawwwwwg-) was taking
me alll llllmorning, and by then I would be happy to have a nice, juicy, fresh, palate cleansing
apple.

The Vanilla is the most tolerable if you cannot get your hands on the Chocolate.
And ALWAY'S over Ice and with a Straw.

Try it and see if it won;t help you change your habits, and then even help you lose some pounds.
A VERY welcome bonus for most of us women:)
As I said, I even my Anxiety Symptoms dealing with a difficult co-worker( I would have sharp stomach pains whenever she showed up to start her shift, and her complaining about the overnight staff-which she often targeted on us, since we were Leads, and my pulse would raise,) waned over a week or so, because I was drinking less coffee as a consequence of spending the entire second half of my morning forcing this whole can of cold Ensure down (with a straw of course, lol Smiling

It can't hurt to try it!

There is a coupon for a FREE 6 pk. of the stuff to be delivered to your home for your sampling pleasure- or, in my case, just pure commitment. Lol.

Wow! I am scared to try it because that is what the doctor had made me drink when he tried to make me gain weight. I think I will stick with my coffee. I am glad you found something that works for you. No doubt that the ensure is much healthier than the coffee you were consuming.

Mine too, actually- it's funny that you say that!when I was pregnant. And man did it work!- 15 lbs. in 4 months drinking 4 a day.lol. I had a hard time getting rid of that 15 lbs. after I had the baby; in fact I lost all of the origional 20 lbs. I had gained(normal preg.weight)
but those 15 were the one's I KEPT. So when my Dr. said to make sure I ate breakfast to help me lose that 15 lbs. of weight, and when I said I never eat before afternoon-him telling me to drink an Ensure shake- I was like, WTH?! Lol. But it actually DID work--at least for me. I guess everyone is different, so you really wouldn't know unless you tried. But, the whole point of it is that eating breakfast is supposed to help you not eat as much during the later morning then, like helping you so that you won't be hitting up the snack machines around 11am like I was. Because you will have "eaten" breakfast, you won't be ravenous later- and so you will make better food choices Smiling Of course, he did say that actually EATING something small but protien dense(not carb dense, like a bagel or muffin, but like an egg wrap or my hubby did 4 red beet eggs and a diet coke for breakfast every day ha ha ha! But he also did BioSlim and it worked real well for him-while it didn't do shhhh for me!!) I DO NOT eat before afternoon besides coffee and if I have to force myself(like while pregnant) I WILL puke it up 85% of the time, and if I don't I will def. be naseaus every time. So, the easy-out of a nice ice-cold shake through a straw instead of suffering through chewing and swallowing and feeling sick sounded great to me! I am a huge iced-coffee fan(keep hazelnut iced coffee in a pitcher in my fridge at all times) so drinking a cold drink almost first thingis second hat for me; I only drink hot coffee when I'm really cold(like doing something outside for hours in the Winter.) I sucked mine down as fast as I could while avoiding brain freeze first thing when I got to work when I was preggers with #2. Since I have stayed at home with my son's I tried the ensure again to lose the weight it had put on me(oxymoronish, I know, but I have lost some of it so far, we shall see what happens with the rest. I still drink lot's of coffee but not so much now LOL

Yeah it is hard to get down the ensure that is. I agree eating breakfast will help you lose weight. I have never been a breakfast eater even as a child. After I had one of my kids I started eating a hard boil egg for breakfast or either a slice of toast with peanut butter and I actually started losing weight. I guess I need to cut back on my coffee intake and substitute it with big tall glasses of ice water and start the boil egg or toast thing again. I hope I can get myself motivated again after the holidays. I really do not need to lose any according to friends but if I could get off 10lbs I would be a happy camper. Smiling

hey it's all about how we feel right? My friends say that too and I get it that I;m not 'fat' but they don't have to live with my bahootie LOL

I am tired of this lousy 10 lbs. that came back after I stopped watching my calories, now that I am 'drinking' breakfast-lol!- I am hoping that I will lose the other 4 lbs, maybe even another 5! and take my weight down 15 lbs, instead of 10; that would be excellent! I would wear a bikini again, I swear I would!

And I would post a picture on here Smiling

I am with you on every thing you had said girl. I totally understand where you are coming from. I am not up here on Sugar as much as I use to be but maybe we can help each other out to lose these last stubborn pounds that friends think we are crazy about. According to your picture you do look great and like you do not need to lose but I agree it is all about the way you feel. I need to cut back on smoking and really get myself back into shape also. I am just to lazy for the excercise. Well anyway good luck and go drink that shake for breakfast I will be looking for those beach pics soon Sticking out tongue

ha ha that would be great and - that pic does not show my @ss, girl! LOL Smiling
I am not big on the exercize either; I have a pain intolerance, and exercize hurts!LOL!! I have also picked up smoking again, not too heavily, just a few a day but, I shouldn't be doing it at all. Considering I started 'messing with it as a temprary fix' last September, it's been over a year since I have been messing with them 'temporarily' and it really is high time I stopped it. I am now at 6 1/2 lbs. gone so far.Woot!! I am also regretting that rash and high-minded promise of beach pic.... hah! Eye-wink
